Portraits of Motherhood

This project explores the intersection of motherhood, memory, and time through the medium of film photography. Women and mothers often feel invisible in the work that they do, because in a lot of ways it is “invisible” and behind-the-scenes. I deeply long to create a space where women can share their voices and feel seen and understood in their experiences.

By pairing my portraits of mothers with their own written reflections, I create a dialogue between image and text, where photography and storytelling come together to honor the complexity and beauty of motherhood. I am drawn to the quiet, everyday moments that reveal depth and emotion — gestures, light, and atmosphere that often go unnoticed.

A big thing mothering has taught me is to have patience in the rudimentary and routine things. “ — Aubrey

The future of mothers is bright because I’m a part of it. I’m being called to leave it better than I found it - and so are you.” — Rachael
